Karina Pickering
Karina is an established textile artist. She specialises in appliqué and is renowned for her 3-dimensional quilts.
She teaches Patchwork and Quilting and gives talks on textiles. She has exhibited widely in major quilt shows in the UK.
Karina enjoys making wearable art and is an avid collector of antique textiles.
Karina widely uses silk dupion from The Silk Route for her pieces.

Emerald Garden is a silk quilt with silk and cotton appliqué. The fabrics used in the appliqué are hand dyed and the quilt has been machine-quilted.
Emerald Garden was Highly Commended in the Scottish Quilt Championships 2003. -

The Geisha is a quilted silk jacket with cotton appliqué. It is based on a character from the Kabuki Theatre.
The Geisha was exhibited at the National Patchwork Championships in 2007.
