Silk Ikat

Ikat is an Indian woven silk in which each thread along the warp is dyed to its own pattern before weaving. When this is woven with a coloured weft this gives shimmering soft edged patterns in subtle colours.

Silk Ikat is of a similar weight to Silk Dupion and the two products can be easily used together to form wonderful patchwork effects. It can also be used in its own right to make stunning fashion items such as a formal jacket suitable for the "mother of the bride".
