Silk Dupion (natural)
Silk Dupion is the most widely known silk and is made in India. It has a slub that gives it a textured effect. The slubs in Dupion occur when two silk worms spin cocoons together. The degree of texture does vary from item to item.
In its natural form Silk Dupion is often used for wedding dresses, christening gowns and ring cushions. Silk Dupion is also ideal for embroidery, patchwork and quilting, etc.
We also supply Silk Dupion in a wide range of colours (see our ‘Coloured Silk’ section).
